A man selling his Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV on Facebook Marketplace accidentally sold it to someone suspected of being a member of the Italian mafia. The seller, Miles Baguette, shared the experience on TikTok, saying the buyer paid in cash, acted mysteriously, and appeared to be carrying a gun during their meeting—prompting Baguette and his friend to briefly panic and flee. During the encounter, the buyer used the word “fazool,” which startled him; he later learned it was slang for “money.” The buyer was dressed entirely in black, wore gold chains, had slicked-back hair, and arrived in another G-Wagon to inspect the vehicle. While handing over the $20,000 in cash, he regaled Baguette with tales from his past—claiming he once ran a barbershop before buying luxury cars. Although the transaction ultimately went through smoothly, Baguette admitted he was extremely nervous throughout the entire process. The story sparked widespread discussion online, with many users warning others to exercise caution when buying or selling used cars via social media platforms. They advised verifying the other party’s identity, meeting in public places, and using secure payment methods.
