The best-selling SUV in Europe for 2025—the Volkswagen T-Roc—is set to launch a high-performance R variant. Recently, overseas media revealed spy shots of the T-Roc R undergoing final-stage road testing. The prototype features the R lineup’s signature Lapiz Blue paint, paired with 20-inch black alloy wheels and blue brake calipers. It sports a more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes and an Akrapovič quad-exit exhaust system at the rear, significantly enhancing its sporty appearance. Built on the MQB Evo platform, the T-Roc R is expected to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, potentially supplemented by a 48V mild-hybrid system. Its output could approach or even exceed the Golf R’s 333 horsepower. Power will likely be sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission and Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, which is said to support a drift mode for track use. The vehicle will also come standard with DCC adaptive suspension. Targeting primarily the European market, the T-Roc R is expected to make its official debut later this year.
