BYD recently unveiled official interior images of its all-electric K-Car "Racco" (named after the sea otter), specifically developed for the Japanese market. The vehicle features a right-hand drive configuration and continues BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics design language, offering a clean and practical interior. Key elements include a three-spoke steering wheel, a compact digital instrument cluster, a floating central infotainment screen, and an abundance of physical buttons. The gear selector is mounted on the steering column, lending a retro touch to the cabin. The seats appear to be upholstered in leather and feature a bench-style layout both front and rear, facilitating easier entry and exit on narrow roads. Despite its compact dimensions (3,395 mm long, 1,475 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall), the boxy shape provides excellent vertical space, comfortably accommodating four adults. Under the hood, the Racco adopts a front-motor, front-wheel-drive layout powered by a 20 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a WLTC-rated range of 180 kilometers. It supports fast charging at up to 100 kW. The vehicle is scheduled to launch in Japan in summer or autumn 2026, with a target price of approximately ¥2.5 million (roughly RMB 110,000).
