UK-based autonomous driving company Wayve announced it has secured $1.2 billion (approximately RMB 8.267 billion) in Series D funding, achieving a post-money valuation of $8.6 billion. The round was co-led by SoftBank, with participation from tech and automotive giants including Microsoft, NVIDIA, Uber, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Stellantis. Wayve stated that starting this year, users will be able to experience its Robotaxi service through a commercial pilot program in partnership with Uber. Passenger vehicles equipped with its AI driving system are expected to launch in 2027, initially offering L2+ advanced driver-assistance capabilities.
