In the 2026–2027 Budget announced on February 25, Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan revealed that the city’s first commercially operated autonomous transportation system, dubbed the “Sky Corridor,” is expected to launch within this year. Chan emphasized that, while ensuring road safety, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is accelerating efforts to advance autonomous driving technology toward full unmanned operation and large-scale deployment, and supporting the industry in leveraging Hong Kong as a platform to expand into overseas markets.
