A man spotted a 2003 Ford Mustang at an estate auction, but the estate executor was unwilling to handle the sale due to the vehicle’s lack of any paperwork and planned to sell it to a junkyard for $400. Prospective buyer Eric Peloquin offered $300 to take it off their hands, only to be told that the original owner had passed away and, legally, no one could directly sell the car. Fortunately, he managed to contact the deceased owner’s first cousin—the only person legally authorized to dispose of the vehicle—who agreed to sell it to him. Peloquin later revealed in a video, “I got the keys!” Although scrap values for such cars typically range between $300 and $500, depending on metal prices and parts condition, he chose to keep the car intact, successfully saving the Mustang from being dismantled.
