Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun recently announced via social media that the company’s premium brand, WEY, will launch a new flagship luxury SUV—the V9X—and unveiled its cultural essence for the first time: inspired by the Chinese auspicious creature “Qilin,” the design fuses Eastern aesthetics with traditional wisdom. The V9X embodies the concepts of “benevolent elegance” and “auspicious protection,” incorporates the Dujiangyan irrigation system’s water-diversion principle into its proprietary Hi4-Z power-split technology, and draws inspiration from ancient movable-type printing to develop its “Guiyuan” technology platform. Designed with Eastern architectural aesthetics, the WEY V9X measures 5,299 mm in length and features a six-seat layout. It is equipped with LiDAR and a dual-tone interior combining purple and gold hues. Powering the vehicle is a self-developed 1.998L engine paired with either a 53.6 kWh or 77.7 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, delivering pure-electric ranges of 240 km or 363 km, respectively, and a fuel consumption of 6.2 L/100 km. Customers can also opt for the “Yuanshan” emblem as an accessory.
