Honda recently announced the cancellation of three upcoming all-electric vehicle projects, including the highly anticipated electric version of the Acura RSX. This electric crossover, originally slated for a U.S. launch later this year, has been scrapped less than a year after its unveiling. The other two canceled models are the Honda 0 SUV and the Honda 0 Sedan. Honda stated that due to slower-than-expected EV adoption in the North American market, the company has decided to halt development and cancel their launches to avoid further losses. All three models were originally scheduled to be produced at Honda’s Marysville plant in Ohio, using Honda’s proprietary platform rather than technology co-developed with General Motors (such as that used in the Acura ZDX). The termination of these projects is expected to result in a financial loss of up to ¥2.5 trillion (approximately $15.8 billion) for Honda.
