Guangzhou Farasis, a subsidiary of Farasis Energy, has recently been officially nominated by GAC Group as the battery supplier for its new EV battery project. Under this collaboration, Guangzhou Farasis will develop and supply lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries based on its SPS (Super Pouch Solution) ultra-thin soft-pack battery platform, with mass deliveries expected to commence in the first half of 2027. The SPS solution features a cell-to-pack (CTP), module-free design that achieves an industry-leading volumetric utilization rate of up to 85%. It supports multiple chemistries—including NMC, LFP, and sodium-ion—and delivers exceptional performance, including a single-charge range exceeding 1,000 kilometers and the ability to fast-charge for 600 kilometers of range in just 8 minutes. The platform has also passed rigorous thermal runaway safety tests, including the demanding "ten-nail penetration" test. Additionally, the SPS platform offers significant modular advantages: a single cell design can be adapted across multiple vehicle models sharing the same chassis, thereby shortening development cycles and reducing costs. This partnership deepens the long-standing relationship between Farasis Energy and GAC Group and marks a significant milestone in the commercialization of Farasis Energy’s LFP battery products in the passenger vehicle market.
