In a Q&A session titled "New-Generation SU7: Answers to Netizens' Questions," released on March 18, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, stated that the new vehicle’s price might be adjusted upward due to upgraded configurations, enhanced overall build quality, and rising supply chain costs. He emphasized that, unlike the first-generation SU7—whose deliveries were delayed because orders far exceeded production capacity—the new-generation SU7 has already begun large-scale mass production two months ahead of schedule, aiming for better balance between production and sales to avoid overwhelming initial-order volumes that could compromise delivery experience. While expressing confidence in the new model's market performance, Lei did not disclose specific sales targets. The new-generation SU7 comes standard across all trims with LiDAR, nine airbags, ultra-high-strength steel rated at 2,200 MPa, a silicon-carbide-based high-voltage platform, and extended range (with the Pro variant achieving a CLTC-rated range of 902 km). Its pre-sale price ranges from RMB 229,900 to RMB 309,900, featuring comprehensive upgrades in both intelligent driving capabilities and safety performance.
