Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. announced that Liu Xinyu will assume the role of General Manager effective April 1, becoming the first Chinese national to lead Nissan China in its history. This move is seen as a critical step in Nissan’s efforts to deepen its localization strategy and accelerate its electrification transformation. Liu brings extensive experience in the automotive industry, having previously held positions at SAIC Volkswagen and MG Motor Europe. Since April 2023, he served as General Manager of Dongfeng Nissan Sales Company, where he spearheaded the launch of new energy vehicles, advanced intelligent upgrades, and innovated channel models—helping the brand navigate market shifts. Prior to his new appointment, Liu had already transitioned to the role of Senior Advisor at Nissan China’s Management Office, focusing on strategic planning and laying the groundwork for his current leadership role.
