The BYD Tang EV all-electric variant has officially debuted, offering a maximum CLTC-rated range of 950 km, with additional variants available at 850 km and 800 km. The new model was unveiled on March 5 and is scheduled to launch in the first half of this year. It has already been included in China’s tax-exemption catalog for new energy vehicles. Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Tang EV features second-generation Blade Batteries, an all-domain 1,000V high-voltage architecture, and flash-charging technology, with BYD claiming it can “charge enough in 5 minutes and fully charge in 9 minutes.” The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and is equipped with BYD’s Yunyang-A intelligent body control system, dual-chamber air suspension, and rear-wheel steering, achieving a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters. Measuring over 5.3 meters in length with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, the Tang EV adopts a 2+2+3 seating layout. The second-row seats support a zero-gravity mode and come with an overhead screen and a foldable tray table. Inside, the cabin features a triple-screen interactive setup and comes standard with a panoramic glass roof, while multiple exterior styling packages are available as options.
