On March 19, CATL’s ChocoSwap launched 30 battery swap stations simultaneously in Hangzhou and delivered 1,500 battery-swappable vehicles from GAC Aion and Changan Oshan. This delivery was jointly carried out by EnerThing (CATL’s battery-as-a-service subsidiary), automakers, and local mobility partners, marking the official launch of an integrated “vehicle-station-ecosystem” operational model in Hangzhou. Currently, ChocoSwap has deployed 30 swap stations across Hangzhou, with plans to expand to nearly 70 by year-end, covering key districts including Shangcheng, Gongshu, and Xihu—aligning with Hangzhou’s citywide plan for building a comprehensive charging and swapping infrastructure network. By the end of 2024, over 250 swap stations will be operational across Zhejiang Province, ensuring coverage in all 11 prefecture-level cities. These swap stations utilize intelligent scheduling to enhance efficiency and can function as distributed energy storage units to support grid peak-shaving, contributing to the development of a clean, low-carbon, next-generation power system.
