China's domestic new energy vehicle (NEV) market has transitioned from a phase of rapid growth into one of intense competition, with some automakers leveraging the "solid-state battery" concept to attract attention. However, vehicles currently marketed as equipped with solid-state batteries mostly use semi-solid or modified liquid electrolyte batteries—not true all-solid-state batteries. As national standards for solid-state batteries approach finalization, the industry will draw a clear line against "pseudo-solid-state batteries," putting an end to exaggerated and misleading claims. Consumers are advised to exercise rational judgment when purchasing vehicles and avoid being misled by inaccurate technical labels.
