Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann recently confirmed that the brand’s next new model will be a plug-in hybrid, two-door 2+2 luxury grand tourer (GT), rather than the previously rumored all-electric Lanzador or a new SUV. Speaking to media during the 12 Hours of Sebring race event, he stated that the current lineup lacks a true GT car. Although the Lanzador was initially positioned as an all-electric GT, Lamborghini has decided—due to shifting market conditions—to switch it to a plug-in hybrid configuration, with a potential launch before 2030. Winkelmann emphasized that the brand has no intention of introducing another SUV or sedan, and will instead focus on developing a flagship GT that combines high performance with long-distance comfort.
