On March 24, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Ford Motor Company will recall 254,640 vehicles in the United States. The recall is due to an issue affecting certain vehicles where the rearview camera image may be lost, potentially impairing the proper operation of advanced driver-assistance features—including automatic emergency braking—and increasing the risk of a crash. Ford will address the defect through a software update, and owners will be notified and able to have their vehicles repaired free of charge at dealerships.
