On April 1, 2024, a woman residing in Los Angeles discovered that her modified Nissan 370Z had been stolen. The vehicle was equipped with carbon fiber RS1 front fenders, Weds Kranze Cerberus II wheels, and custom body panels, interior components, and suspension systems. After the owner posted a plea for help on social media, she received over 1,000 responses, including multiple videos showing the car being used and dismantled by a local crew calling themselves “3A.” According to the information gathered, this group is suspected of specifically targeting vehicles to harvest parts and participating in street "takeovers"—events where large groups block intersections to perform dangerous maneuvers such as burnouts and doughnuts. The stolen vehicles are typically rear-wheel-drive performance models, including the Nissan 370Z, Infiniti G37/G35, Nissan 350Z, Dodge Challenger/Charger, and GM’s rear-wheel-drive offerings, with the “3A” crew reportedly favoring the Infiniti G37. Evidence provided by the owner includes chat logs allegedly showing gang members admitting to the theft, threatening messages, and discussions about using the stolen parts to repair their own vehicles. Some of the information also revealed their theft tactics, such as covering the stolen car with a car cover during daylight hours to conceal its identity and using RF signal simulators to clone key fob signals. Since the 370Z was stolen, the “3A” crew is said to have carried out multiple additional thefts and shared related videos online. The owner has made all evidence publicly available. As of now, neither local police nor the California Highway Patrol has issued a public statement regarding the matter.
