As of April 14, 2026, Hyundai Motor has issued eight recalls in 2026, affecting over 1.1 million vehicles in total. The largest recall occurred in January, involving approximately 568,000 units of the previous-generation Palisade SUV due to a risk of abnormal deployment of side curtain airbags. Separately, the new Palisade was also recalled because of a safety hazard associated with its rear power seats—a defect linked to the death of a child. Hyundai suspended sales of this model until a remedy is developed. The smallest recall affected just 27 electric vehicles due to a fire risk posed by their high-voltage batteries.
