On May 5, the BMW Group announced that its two-millionth all-electric vehicle has rolled off the production line at its Dingolfing plant in Germany. The vehicle—a BMW i5 M60 xDrive sedan finished in Tanzanite Blue metallic—will be delivered to a customer in Spain. This milestone comes just two years after the company achieved one million global deliveries of fully electric vehicles in April 2024. The Dingolfing plant began series production of all-electric vehicles in 2021 with the BMW iX and currently manufactures several all-electric models, including the BMW iX, BMW i5 sedan and Touring variants, and the BMW i7. To date, the plant has produced more than 320,000 all-electric vehicles, accounting for nearly one-sixth of BMW Group’s total all-electric output. By 2025, over a quarter of all vehicles produced at the Dingolfing site will be fully electric. Currently, every BMW plant in Germany is producing at least one all-electric model, underscoring that electrification has become an integral part of the company’s manufacturing operations.
