ECARX Holdings Co., Ltd. has signed a strategic framework agreement with U.S.-based autonomous driving company May Mobility to provide a full-stack intelligent driving solution for May Mobility’s future Robotaxi fleet. The two parties have already identified their first collaborative vehicle platform, with pilot operations scheduled to begin in 2027 and scaled commercial deployment targeted for 2028. Under the agreement, ECARX will supply May Mobility’s next-generation autonomous driving system with a customized AI central computing platform and a complete sensor suite. These technological solutions will be deployed across tens of thousands of autonomous vehicles. ECARX’s self-developed, high-performance, automotive-grade, and scalable AI central computing platform will be deeply optimized for driverless operational scenarios and support iterative advancements in world-model algorithms. The sensor suite includes LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, onboard cameras, and inertial measurement units (IMUs), enabling 360-degree omnidirectional perception and meeting safety requirements for Level 4 autonomous driving. The two companies have also jointly set a target to reduce the total vehicle cost of ownership for autonomous vehicles by at least 50% by 2028. The total value of this collaboration is estimated at approximately $750 million, aiming to accelerate the realization of an "Autonomous Driving as a Service" (ADaaS) business model.
