BYD’s all-electric kei car, the "Haita," specifically developed for the Japanese market, will officially launch on July 28, with Japanese actress Alice Hirose serving as its ambassador. Featuring a boxy design, the vehicle measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, accommodating four passengers and complying with Japan's kei car regulations. Exterior highlights include a closed front fascia, C-shaped daytime running lights on both sides, and a full-width rear light bar. The interior adopts a right-hand-drive layout, continuing BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics design language, and features a three-spoke steering wheel, a compact digital instrument cluster, and a floating central touchscreen. Powering the vehicle is a front-mounted, front-wheel-drive electric motor delivering a maximum output of 47 kW. It offers two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options—22.4 kWh and 35.84 kWh—providing CLTC-rated ranges of 210 km and 320 km, respectively. With this launch, BYD will further expand its lineup of all-electric vehicles in the Japanese market.
