BYD Reports H1 2026 Results: Overseas Sales Surge 67.9% YoY, Premium Models Sell 227,900 Units

On August 28, BYD released its interim financial results for the first half of 2026. The report showed that the company achieved total operating revenue of RMB 344.82 billion and net profit of RMB 12.33 billion in the first half of the year, with earnings per share of RMB 1.35. R&D investment reached RMB 28.9 billion, bringing cumulative R&D expenditure to over RMB 270 billion. Net cash flow from operating activities amounted to RMB 37.3 billion, and the company held cash reserves of RMB 167.4 billion on its balance sheet. In the first half of the year, BYD sold a total of 1.8085 million vehicles, including 789,000 units exported overseas, representing a 67.9% year-over-year increase. Overseas sales alone reached a record high of 174,900 units in June. Sales of its premium vehicle portfolio totaled 227,900 units, up 61% year-over-year. New technologies such as the second-generation Blade Battery and the Flash Charging Platform have been progressively integrated into production vehicles. As of the report’s release date, BYD has deployed its 10,000th flash charging station, covering 332 cities nationwide. Orders for its energy storage business are already scheduled through 2028.
