On the evening of September 7, Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max Explorer Edition at its autumn flagship new product launch event. The vehicle features a native electric pop-up roof and adopts a spacious five-seat layout, with a price tag of RMB 299,900. Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, stated that when the electric roof is fully raised, the interior headroom reaches 2.29 meters. In the early hours of September 9, 2026, Xiaomi REDMI product manager @SunCun posted that the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max Explorer Edition is registered as a passenger vehicle with seven seats or fewer, qualifying it for toll-free travel on expressways during major national holidays under current government policies. Its scrappage period aligns with that of standard small passenger vehicles.
