On the morning of September 17, industry sources revealed that Maserati has finalized plans for two new electric vehicle models developed in collaboration with Huawei: a mid-to-large-size all-electric SUV and a large all-electric GT. According to insiders, the company internally favors launching the all-electric GT as its first model. Earlier reports indicated that Stellantis Group plans to collaborate with Huawei and JAC Motors to develop premium new energy vehicles priced around one million RMB. Under the arrangement, Huawei will provide its Harmony Intelligent Mobility platform, including smart cockpit systems, Qiankun ADS intelligent driving solutions, and electric drive technologies; JAC will handle whole-vehicle engineering and manufacturing through its Zunjie Super Factory; and Maserati will contribute design styling and overseas distribution channels. The project is expected to adopt a dual-brand strategy—sold under the Zunjie brand in China while retaining the Maserati logo for international markets. Insiders noted that Maserati holds greater decision-making authority over overseas sales channels and will initially target the Middle East, Italy, France, and Germany. For exports, Maserati plans to implement an SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) strategy: white bodies will be produced at its Hefei plant in China, then shipped to Italian factories for installation of luxury interiors and final calibration on dedicated assembly lines. The company also aims to revitalize production resources at its Cassino and Modena plants in Italy through this initiative.
