CPCA: October 2026 National NEV Passenger Vehicle Wholesale Sales Estimated at 1.8 Million Units

According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), in October 2026, wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicle manufacturers nationwide are estimated to reach 1.8 million units, up 12% year-on-year and 8% month-on-month. The top five automakers by wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles in October were BYD Auto, Geely Auto, Chery Auto, Changan Auto, and Leapmotor. Joint venture brands such as SAIC Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen doubled their year-on-year growth in new energy passenger vehicles; Geely Auto, Chery Auto, SAIC Passenger Vehicle, XPeng Motors, and Great Wall Motor achieved record-high monthly sales in October. Calculation basis shows that in September 2026, the combined sales of manufacturers with wholesale sales of new energy vehicles exceeding 10,000 units accounted for 93% of total new energy passenger vehicle sales for the month. Based on preliminary aggregated data, the aforementioned manufacturers with September new energy sales above 10,000 units recorded October sales of 1.62 million units. Using the September structural share combined with October data, the estimated nationwide wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles for October is calculated at 1.8 million units.
