Toyota Motor's operating profit for July to September is expected to rise 18% year-on-year to 992 billion yen (approximately 41.829 billion yuan at current exchange rates), according to a survey of nine analysts by the London Stock Exchange Group. Revenue for the same period is projected to grow 8% to 13.4 trillion yen (approximately 565.024 billion yuan at current exchange rates). If the forecast materializes, it would mark Toyota's first operating profit increase in six quarters. Toyota Motor is scheduled to announce its results on Thursday. In July to September, Toyota and Lexus global sales totaled slightly above 2.5 million vehicles, down 4% year-on-year. Sales in the Chinese market fell 22%, while Middle East sales dropped by one-third. Electrified vehicle sales in North America grew more than 30% to nearly 430,000 units; overall U.S. market sales rose by less than 1%. Supplier Denso reported last week that its Asia business operating profit fell by more than one-third in the six months through September. Toyota estimates that factory modernization could cost approximately 1 trillion yen (approximately 42.166 billion yuan at current exchange rates) annually starting from 2028.
