On November 4, JD.com announced the launch of a "pay-by-meter" cable installation service for new energy vehicle charging piles. After consumers place orders, JD engineers will conduct on-site surveys and calculate costs based on the actual wiring length at the site. Cables will be used as needed, with sales starting from 0 meters. JD.com stated that in the past, most home charging pile installations used fixed-length cable packages, with common specifications of 10 meters, 20 meters, and 30 meters. The newly launched service supports purchasing and billing based on actual length used. JD.com said it began laying out its charging pile installation business years ago, and its service network has covered most regions across the country. Since the start of JD 11.11 in 2026 three weeks ago, charging pile installation orders have increased by nearly 100% year on year. JD.com will continue to provide on-site construction services for new energy vehicle owners.
