François Provost, CEO of the Renault Group, recently embarked on his first trip to China since taking office, selecting China as the destination for his inaugural international visit in 2026. Renault plans to unveil its mid-term strategic plan in March 2026, focusing on four core pillars: product strategy, operational excellence, partnerships, and talent capital. The company particularly highlighted the critical role of its Shanghai-based ACDC R&D center—established in 2024—which completed development of the Twingo E-Tech electric vehicle in just 21 months, showcasing the "China speed." Currently, ACDC is simultaneously advancing development of Twingo derivatives as well as next-generation A-segment electric vehicles for Dacia and Nissan, with completion expected within 16 months. In response to intense market competition, Renault is moving away from traditional price-based tendering and instead forging deep strategic partnerships with key suppliers to jointly define competitiveness targets, enabling efficient collaboration and mutual value creation.
