Qianli Technology plans to establish a joint venture with BAIC Group. The relevant proposal is still under discussion and is expected to be finalized within the year. This move aims to downplay the Geely affiliation of its intelligent driving subsidiary, Qianli Intelligent Driving, in order to attract more external automaker clients. According to insiders, the joint venture plan was conceived early on during Qianli Intelligent Driving’s formation, with the goal of validating its technological capabilities by scaling up order volumes. Qianli Intelligent Driving CEO Chen Qi is set to depart but remains within the company’s organizational structure for now. His departure is unrelated to the joint venture and stems from personal career choices; he is reportedly considering launching a startup in the field of embodied intelligence. Additionally, since the Spring Festival holiday, some mid-level employees who originally joined from Zeekr and have Huawei backgrounds have voluntarily resigned. At its inception, Qianli Intelligent Driving adopted a dual-CEO structure with Wang Jun and Chen Qi. Wang Jun, formerly the first president of Huawei’s Vehicle Business Unit (BU), currently serves as Co-President of Qianli Technology and holds the positions of Chairman and CEO at Qianli Intelligent Driving. Chen Qi previously served as Co-CEO of Qianli Intelligent Driving. From the announcement of its strategy in late 2025 through March 2026, Qianli Intelligent Driving’s solutions have been deployed across 17 vehicle models—primarily Geely-affiliated brands including Zeekr, Lynk & Co, and Galaxy—with cumulative installations reaching 460,000 units.
