On May 9, BYD and UCAR signed a strategic cooperation agreement titled "Flash Charge China" along with a framework agreement for the procurement of 100,000 vehicles in Shenzhen. Under the agreement, both parties will install BYD flash charging stations at eligible UCAR rental outlets nationwide, building an extensive, efficient, and convenient EV charging service network. Additionally, UCAR will procure a total of 100,000 BYD vehicles to further expand its new energy vehicle (NEV) fleet. UCAR launched its NEV fleet upgrade strategy in 2025, initially deploying 3,000 BYD Qin PLUS DM-i units for short-term rentals in April of that year, and formally establishing a strategic partnership with BYD in May. Throughout 2025, UCAR purchased nearly 30,000 BYD vehicles. Meanwhile, BYD is advancing its "Flash Charge China" initiative, aiming to build 20,000 flash charging stations by the end of 2025.
