The case study titled "End-to-End Low-Carbon Management Innovation for Hot-Dip Galvanized Automotive Steel" submitted by TAGAL (Tangshan Ansteel ThyssenKrupp Automotive Steel Co., Ltd.) has been selected as one of the "2025 Outstanding Corporate Practices in Green and Low-Carbon Development," making TAGAL one of only 30 companies nationwide to receive this recognition. The case will be included in the *2026 Selected Compilation of Outstanding Corporate Practices in Green and Low-Carbon Development* and showcased at the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. TAGAL has positioned green and low-carbon development as a core strategic priority. Leveraging technical resources from its shareholders—Ansteel Group and thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG—the company implements a dual-pronged strategy of "low-carbon products + zero-carbon manufacturing." Its TAGAL eNovation® low-carbon steel product line has obtained ISO 14067 certification for product carbon footprint and released its first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This product series includes three main grades—ELC30, ELC50, and ELC80—with emission reductions ranging from 30% to over 80%. TAGAL has already achieved China’s first batch-scale supply of these products. In green manufacturing, TAGAL has been designated a "National Green Factory" and is advancing the construction of the region’s first zero-carbon factory. On the production side, through measures such as replacing high-energy-consuming equipment, optimizing processes, and implementing energy-saving controls during non-operational hours, the company reduced electricity consumption by 5.1 million kWh in 2025 compared to 2022, lowering energy consumption per ton of steel by 12 kWh. On the energy side, TAGAL has achieved a 100% climate-neutral energy mix, increasing its renewable energy usage from 10% in 2021 to 100% in 2024. In logistics, the company promotes localized sourcing and transitions to clean transportation; rail transport now accounts for 74% of shipments to Chengdu and 88% to Changchun, resulting in cumulative carbon reductions of approximately 4,790 tons. Looking ahead, TAGAL plans to complete its zero-carbon factory by 2028, powered entirely by green electricity and supported by CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) projects, continuously advancing its low-carbon product portfolio and green manufacturing capabilities.
