The naming and brand affiliation of Xiaomi's first extended-range SUV have been largely confirmed. Previously, there was widespread speculation that the vehicle might be named "YU9" or launched under an independent sub-brand called "Xun Tian" (SKYNOMAD). However, recent spy photos from road tests reveal that the front grille features Xiaomi Auto’s logo, while the rear badge reads “Xiaomi Xun Tian N90,” indicating that “Xun Tian” is not a standalone sub-brand but rather a product series name under Xiaomi Auto. Codename "Kunlun," the model has seen frequent leaks of its high-end variant, dubbed "Kunlun N3." It adopts an extended-range electric powertrain with a battery capacity exceeding 70 kWh, delivering an estimated CLTC pure-electric range of approximately 400 kilometers. Measuring over 5.2 meters in length, it is positioned as a large family-oriented SUV with three rows of seating. Its boxy, rugged design clearly distinguishes it from Xiaomi’s SU7 and YU7 models. The vehicle is equipped with LiDAR, teardrop-shaped side mirrors, a “Sky-and-Earth” split tailgate, and native Xiaomi Blue ambient lighting. It is also expected to debut Xiaomi’s next-generation intelligent cockpit system, which received radio equipment approval from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) at the end of April 2024. Although Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. has filed multiple trademark applications for “Xun Tian” and “SKYNOMAD” since 2023—including under the “vehicles” category—and some bloggers previously claimed the car would feature an entirely new brand emblem, the latest spy shots confirm that the vehicle will remain under Xiaomi Auto’s main brand. As of now, the model has not yet been officially listed in MIIT filings, with a market launch expected in either Q3 or Q4 of 2024. As Xiaomi Auto’s key follow-up product after the SU7 and YU7, this SUV will enter the highly competitive large new-energy SUV segment, directly competing against models such as the Li Auto L9, Aito M9, NIO ES8, and Zeekr 9X.
