Great Wall Motor’s premium brand WEY has officially launched the V9X, offering three variants priced from RMB 349,800. All launch models feature the Super Hi4 plug-in hybrid powertrain, with HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) and BEV (battery electric vehicle) versions to follow. The V9X is the first mass-produced model based on Great Wall’s Guiyuan S platform, positioned as an “AI-powered luxury six-seater flagship.” The Guiyuan S platform leverages three core technical approaches—standardized hardware interfaces, labeled software functions, and AI-native architecture—to enable flexible integration and invocation of vehicle features, delivering strong functional scalability. Exterior design blends aesthetics inspired by traditional Chinese architecture, featuring clean, straight lines and a restrained yet imposing proportion. The illuminated floating emblem draws inspiration from the flagpoles in front of the Zhili Governor’s Office in Baoding. The V9X is available in two wheelbase configurations: the standard-wheelbase version measures 5,205 mm in length with a 3,050 mm wheelbase, while the long-wheelbase variant adds 84 mm to the length and 100 mm to the wheelbase, with identical width and height dimensions. Inside, the cabin adopts WEY’s signature design language, highlighted by a large dual-screen setup, a full LCD instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel, and orange leather accents to create a tech-forward and luxurious ambiance. The front row includes dual cup holders, a wireless charging pad, and a column-mounted gear selector. As a six-seater SUV, the second row features zero-gravity seats with leg rests, overhead entertainment screens, foldable tables, and integrated wireless charging in the door handles. The third-row seats offer massage functionality. Powering the V9X is the Super Hi4 hybrid system, comprising a 2.0T turbocharged engine, a dedicated 4-speed hybrid transmission, an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture, and 6C ultra-fast charging technology. With a full charge, the vehicle achieves a 0–100 km/h acceleration time in the 4-second range. The chassis is equipped with a rear-wheel steering system offering a wide steering angle and a closed-loop dual-chamber air suspension. On the intelligent driving front, the ADAS system—built on AI agent technology—boasts capabilities described as “understanding voice commands, perceiving surroundings, and reasoning like a human.” It can identify risks and execute defensive driving strategies. A new Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning card function visually illustrates the system’s risk assessment logic, enhancing user trust. Voice-controlled vehicle functions and other interactive features have also been further refined.
