At its Q1 2026 earnings briefing, SigmaStar disclosed that its first high-end automotive primary LiDAR chip, the SS901, was launched in late 2025 and entered small-scale mass production in Q2 2026 on flagship models of leading domestic Chinese automakers. Designed for long-range line-scanning primary LiDAR applications, the chip features high performance, a compact footprint, and low power consumption, making it suitable for advanced intelligent driving scenarios such as urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and highway pilot assist. It enables long-range, high-precision environmental perception. The company is also advancing the development of a blind-spot LiDAR chip, scheduled for official launch in Q4 2026. Primarily used for automotive blind-spot detection, this chip is expected to be deployed in volumes several times higher per vehicle than the primary radar chip. Its applications can further extend to robotics, smart wearables, mobile imaging, and low-altitude economy devices. SigmaStar anticipates that its automotive LiDAR chips will enter large-scale mass production starting in 2027, targeting annual shipments in the tens of millions. The company has already established a comprehensive chip portfolio covering primary automotive LiDARs, blind-spot LiDARs, and multi-terminal application scenarios. Leveraging its automotive-grade chip design capabilities, SigmaStar aims to become a global technology and market leader in automotive LiDAR chips within three years.
