In April 2026, data on residual values for mainstream new energy vehicle (NEV) brands with transaction prices above RMB 150,000 showed that Aito ranked first with a residual value retention rate of 82.7%, followed by Xiaomi at 81.4% and Li Auto at 81.2%. The market exhibited clear tier differentiation: the top tier (above 80%) included Aito, Xiaomi, and Li Auto; the second tier (72%–78%) comprised multiple brands; XPeng, Zeekr, and IM Motors fell within the 70%–73% range; while NIO and Voyah remained below 65%. The entry of new models significantly impacted residual values. New vehicles such as the Aito M8, Xiaomi YU7, and Li Auto i6 entering the used-car market boosted their respective brand residual values. Aito’s residual value rose for three consecutive months, climbing from 74.7% in February to 82.7% in April. Xiaomi started at 75.8% in February, dipped slightly to 75.7% in March, and rebounded to 81.4% in April. In contrast, Tesla declined for two consecutive months, dropping from 83.9% to 80.9%. The concurrently released “Worth Buying” Index for used cars revealed that Voyah and Audi tied for the highest score at 148%. Huawei-backed Enjoy, Avatr, and IM Motors also ranked high on the index. However, due to their high residual values and stable new-car pricing, Li Auto, Aito, and Xiaomi scored relatively low on this index, indicating weaker price advantages in the used-car market.
