Toyota Motor Corporation will begin exporting two key compact minivans, the "Noah" and "Voxy," from its production facility in Taiwan to the Japanese market starting October 2024. This move comes as labor shortages in Japan have constrained domestic factory output, extending vehicle delivery lead times to over a year and, at times, forcing Toyota to temporarily halt new orders. To shorten delivery times and diversify supply chain risks, Toyota has decided to establish dedicated production lines for the Japanese market at its Taiwanese plant. These two models sell approximately 70,000 to 80,000 units annually in Japan, marking the first time Toyota has set up overseas production lines specifically for supplying core models to the Japanese market.
