Xiaomi's YU7 GT new energy vehicle officially launched on May 21, priced at RMB 389,900. Customers can secure their order by paying a RMB 20,000 deposit. Following the launch, in-store visits, test drives, and orders at offline retail outlets have significantly increased. Meanwhile, numerous second-hand trading platforms have seen a surge in listings offering to transfer YU7 GT orders, with sellers claiming cash rebates ranging from RMB 2,000 to RMB 10,000. These sellers say they exploit Xiaomi Auto’s internal “canceled-order reactivation” and “pay-one-get-one-refunded” policies: using older accounts to place new car orders, then refunding the original deposit and passing part of it as cashback to new buyers—all while asserting that this process does not affect the new owner’s rights. Xiaomi Auto sales representatives have clearly stated that the company strictly prohibits its staff from participating in third-party order-transfer transactions, emphasizing that such activities are unofficial. Customer service has also warned that private transactions are not protected by Xiaomi and that users bear all associated risks themselves. It is understood that Xiaomi Auto does indeed have internal “canceled-order reactivation” and “pay-one-get-one-refunded” policies, but these were implemented solely to address deposit issues related to specific legacy orders. The policies were never publicly promoted, apply only to certain models and time periods, and are expected to end by the end of May. Current order-transfer activities in the market are individual attempts to profit from these internal procedures—not official promotional offers. Consumers are advised to place orders exclusively through official channels, such as the Xiaomi Auto app or authorized offline stores, to avoid financial losses resulting from trusting unauthorized third-party resellers.
