Volkswagen Group (China) announced that its "Agentic AI for All" technology will be fully integrated into new models based on the CEA architecture starting in the second half of 2026. The system leverages a locally trained large language model, enabling it to proactively understand user needs, execute complex cross-system operations, and make context-aware decisions—departing from the passive response mode of traditional voice assistants. For example, it can automatically locate parking spots, remember users’ travel preferences, recognize real-time traffic conditions while driving, and proactively suggest route changes while activating driver-assistance features. All data processing occurs within a closed loop on the vehicle itself, without uploading to the cloud, ensuring user privacy and security. In 2027, Volkswagen will launch the next-generation CEA 2.0 architecture, which integrates the two core domains of intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit. Powered by a more robust central computing platform, this new architecture will deliver a unified driving-cabin experience. At that time, the Agentic AI will work in concert with "AI Driving," "AI In-Cabin Services," and "Cloud Services," breaking down data silos between systems and enabling the vehicle to provide holistic, autonomous services.
