The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has completed the formulation of the "Automotive Standardization System for 2026." This system strengthens the top-level design of standardization and covers key areas including intelligent connected vehicles, automotive chips, new energy vehicles, and low-carbon automotive development, aiming to enhance and refine relevant standard systems. It prioritizes research on standards for automotive quality and reliability as well as solid-state battery systems for vehicles, while also updating and improving sub-systems related to data governance and application, and automotive artificial intelligence. In emerging fields, the system accelerates the development and iteration of standards in areas such as automated driving, connected vehicle functions and applications, information and data security, resource management and information services, automotive software, automotive data, and the integrated "vehicle-road-cloud" ecosystem. Additionally, it efficiently advances the formulation and revision of standards for critical components and systems like automotive electronics and automotive chips. Looking ahead, the plan proactively lays out standardization strategies for future-oriented sectors such as automotive AI and next-generation vehicle forms, implementing forward-looking initiatives to achieve breakthroughs in standard development.
