Mitsubishi has announced the revival of the "Pajero" nameplate after a five-year hiatus. The all-new Pajero will make its global debut this autumn and go on sale starting next year. Returning to its roots as a rugged off-roader, the new model will be built on the ladder-frame chassis derived from the Triton pickup but will feature a dedicated four-wheel-drive system and unique front and rear suspension tuning to distinguish it from the Triton. The interior will also receive an independent design focused on comfort rather than directly borrowing the Triton’s cabin. The Pajero will no longer exist as a single model but will evolve into a full vehicle series. At least two new models based on the Pajero platform are already under development and will serve as flagship products for the Mitsubishi brand. This new Pajero series is part of Mitsubishi’s broader product strategy, which aims to launch 13 new vehicles by March 31, 2032, spanning MPVs, kei cars, SUVs, and pickups—including five hybrid and five fully electric models.
