Belgian logistics company Katoen Natie has signed an agreement with BMW Group Belux to purchase 1,000 all-electric vehicles in a single order—including the BMW iX3 and MINI Cooper SE (MINI i3)—marking the largest corporate all-electric fleet order in Belgian history. The acquisition aims to replace existing internal combustion engine vehicles, with an estimated annual reduction of 3,350 metric tons of CO₂ emissions and lower fuel costs. Headquartered in Antwerp and founded in 1854, Katoen Natie specializes in port operations and logistics warehousing, and this initiative forms a key part of its decarbonization strategy. In 2025, the BMW Group delivered 442,072 fully electric vehicles globally, up 3.6% year-over-year, accounting for 17.9% of total deliveries. Including plug-in hybrid models, the company’s total electrified vehicle deliveries reached 642,071 units. As of June 2025, cumulative global deliveries of BMW’s fully electric vehicles have surpassed 1.5 million, with expectations to exceed 2 million by 2026. The iX3 included in this order is built on BMW’s Neue Klasse platform, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering up to 463 horsepower, a WLTP-rated range exceeding 600 kilometers, and support for ultra-fast charging at up to 400 kW. The MINI i3 also sees significant improvements in range and intelligent features.
