The entire Yijing X9 lineup comes standard with Huawei’s Qiankun In-Vehicle Optical Technology, featuring three core products: HUAWEI XPIXEL Megapixel Intelligent Projection Headlights, HUAWEI XSCENE In-Vehicle Laser Projector, and HUAWEI XHUD Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR-HUD). The intelligent projection headlights can dynamically dim the high-beam intensity in the visual field of oncoming drivers and support turn indicators, pedestrian alerts, and a “Starry Path” welcome lighting sequence. The in-vehicle laser projector delivers a contrast ratio of 2000:1, covers 98% of the color gamut, has received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, and supports wireless screen mirroring from smartphones along with multiple viewing modes. The AR-HUD seamlessly overlays navigation arrows, speed limit signs, distance to the vehicle ahead, and other critical information onto the real-world view, while also visualizing the perception and decision-making processes of the intelligent driving system in real time. Since 2021, Huawei has extended its optical communication expertise into the automotive sector, successively launching three product categories: smart HUDs, intelligent automotive lighting, and in-vehicle projectors. The Yijing X9 is the first vehicle to integrate all three technologies simultaneously. Jointly developed by Dongfeng Motor Group and Huawei through a full-stack, native co-creation model, both parties collaborated from the earliest product definition phase—conducting user research, scenario design, prototype iterations, and testing validation—together. The project involved approximately 5,000 R&D personnel and over RMB 10 billion in investment. In specific component development, the Yijing X9’s front light strip spans 1.83 meters. Achieving seamless, uniform illumination required 11 months of development and 52 design iterations. The rear lights integrate 1,172 micro LED beads, enabling intelligent lighting sequences across multiple scenarios. Yijing Auto stated that Huawei’s in-vehicle optical technology, developed at Huawei’s Wuhan Research Institute, forms part of the vehicle’s technological foundation, and more technical contributions from other Huawei R&D centers will be disclosed in the future.
