A strike against a major truck axle supplier for General Motors has entered its second week, as the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and the company have yet to reach an agreement on a new contract. Josh Jager, chairman of UAW Local 2093’s bargaining committee, said Monday that negotiations concluded that afternoon, with the company failing to present a constructive proposal and instead focusing only on wording changes. The union is preparing to submit a new counterproposal in response.
