On June 7, Estonian mobility platform Bolt, automaker Stellantis, and Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai jointly launched the first autonomous mobility pilot project in Luxembourg. The initiative aims to validate the safety, operational performance, and regulatory compliance of Pony.ai’s autonomous vehicles within Luxembourg’s local traffic environment. Stellantis is providing a mid-size van developed on its Level 4 autonomous-ready platform. The three partners plan to achieve fully driverless operations before the pilot concludes. This test also aligns with a prior declaration of intent signed by 18 EU member states under the “European Automotive Action Plan,” which supports large-scale cross-border testing of autonomous vehicles. Currently, multiple companies—including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, and Uber—are accelerating efforts to deploy autonomous driving services across Europe.
