On June 11, Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, responded on his personal social media account to external criticism regarding his frequent discussions on artificial intelligence (AI) and embodied intelligence, stating that the company has long focused on how AI can enter the physical world and create user value. Li Auto will hold its Livis Day Software and Artificial Intelligence Launch Event on June 15 at 16:30, where it will systematically unveil, for the first time, its standards for embodied intelligence, associated user value, and expected timeline for user experience. Li Xiang stated that embodied intelligence based on automotive form factors could become the first AI-powered robot to enter the physical world. This direction has already been implemented in products: the new-generation Li L9 Livis model was launched in May at a price of RMB 509,800. It is equipped with the company’s self-developed Maha M100 chip, manufactured using a 5nm automotive-grade process, delivering 1,280 TOPS of computing power per chip—making it the industry’s first edge-side inference chip based on a dataflow architecture. Li Auto has invested heavily in AI for many years. In May 2025, the company launched its VLA Driver Foundation Model, advancing autonomous driving from rule-based algorithms toward human-like intelligence. Its R&D investment in 2025 reached RMB 11.3 billion, approximately half of which was allocated to AI-related fields. Li Auto has now established embodied intelligence as a core element of its brand positioning and plans to expand into humanoid robotics.
