Xiaomi Auto has released a video of the YU7 GT undergoing a cross-axle traction test. This test simulates complex, uneven off-road conditions to evaluate the vehicle's chassis performance, and the YU7 GT has successfully completed the test. In response to online inquiries about whether the standard YU7 model can also perform similar tests, Xiaomi Auto confirmed that company founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun will conduct a live stream this Saturday at 9 a.m., during which he will personally carry out a cross-axle traction test on the standard YU7 model. Previously, in an official Q&A session on June 9, Xiaomi Auto explained that during the YU7 GT’s cross-axle test, opening and closing the doors, front trunk, and rear trunk was intended to visually demonstrate the body’s torsional rigidity. The YU7 GT features an armored cage-like body structure with a torsional rigidity of 47,610 N·m/deg—one of the highest levels among SUVs. High torsional rigidity enhances directness, linearity, and controllability in handling response, improves vehicle tracking stability and driver confidence, and contributes to better NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance by reducing squeaks, rattles, and resonance between the body and interior components when driving over rough terrain.
