On June 17, Geely Galaxy officially unveiled the name of its new C-segment AI-powered electric sports sedan as “Galaxy TT,” a name selected through user voting. The naming campaign launched on June 12 and concluded just five days later. “TT” stands for “Trend” and “Technology,” highlighting the vehicle’s original design and cutting-edge technology. Positioned as a C-segment all-electric sports sedan, the Galaxy TT measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,919 mm in width, and 1,479 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Its exterior features a closed-off front fascia, slim and rounded headlights, a three-section front bumper, and an electrically deployable rear spoiler. The rear end is equipped with wraparound angular taillights, a “GEELY” badge, diffuser-like trim, and red reflector strips. A roof-mounted LiDAR enables highway and urban navigation-assisted driving as well as full-scenario intelligent parking, based on the Qianli Haohan H7 solution. Powering the Galaxy TT is an 800V high-voltage platform, offering two variants: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive version (peak output of 245 kW) and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version (combined output of 425 kW). The suspension system consists of a double-wishbone front setup and a five-link independent rear suspension. All variants are equipped with CATL batteries, delivering four CLTC-rated range options: 540 km, 640 km, 650 km (AWD version), and 725 km. Currently, Geely Galaxy’s product lineup is dominated by plug-in hybrid models, with only three pure-electric offerings: the Galaxy E5, E8, and the Panda micro EV. Among them, the Galaxy E8—Geely’s existing C-segment electric sedan—has underperformed in the market. The Galaxy TT will serve as a sister model to the E8 but will emphasize a sportier positioning, with an expected price range of RMB 160,000 to 200,000, targeting the RMB 150,000–250,000 segment. The new energy vehicle (NEV) market in 2026 is witnessing accelerated adoption of battery-electric vehicles (BEVs). In May, BEV wholesale sales reached 886,000 units, up 16.6% year-over-year; plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) totaled 372,000 units, growing 10.5%; while extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) saw sales of 95,000 units, down 24.9% year-over-year. In Q1, BEVs accounted for 67% of the NEV market share, compared to 22.4% for PHEVs and 10.1% for EREVs. Against this backdrop, the Galaxy TT is seen as a pivotal move by Geely Galaxy to strengthen its BEV portfolio and respond to structural shifts in the market. Competition in the C-segment BEV sedan segment is fierce, with key rivals including the Xiaomi SU7, XPeng P7+, and Zeekr 007. While the Galaxy TT boasts competitive hardware specifications, its real-world driving dynamics, intelligent features, and delivery capabilities remain to be validated by the market.
