On June 15, the Hongqi brand unveiled official images of its new full-size SUV, the Hongqi G9. The vehicle will be offered in both all-electric and range-extended variants, targeting the premium SUV segment priced around RMB 500,000. It measures 5,377 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,897 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm, and is available in both five- and six-seat configurations. Design highlights include a boxy silhouette, a closed-off front grille, a full-width light bar, and split rear doors that open sideways. The vehicle also features mounting points for external storage boxes and an electric tow hook. The all-electric version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and equipped with dual motors (front and rear), delivering a CLTC-rated range exceeding 700 km. The range-extended variant pairs a 1.5T range extender with an electric drivetrain, offering over 400 km of pure electric CLTC range and a combined range exceeding 1,300 km. The suspension system consists of a double-wishbone front setup and multi-link rear suspension, complemented by air springs. On June 16, WEY launched the Tank 7 SUV version, priced at RMB 285,800, with an early-bird promotional price of RMB 270,800. Based on the Tank 7 MPV, this SUV variant features a raised ride height, updated exterior styling elements, and enhanced off-road capability. Its unloaded ground clearance is increased by 30 mm compared to the standard model and includes specially tuned rebound springs. Dimensions are 5,149 mm long, 2,005 mm wide, and 1,925 mm tall, with a 3,085 mm wheelbase. The interior retains the layout of the Tank 7 MPV, featuring dual integrated displays, independent second-row seats (optional zero-gravity seats), and a shared sliding rail system for the second and third rows. Driver assistance is powered by the Coffee Pilot 3 system, supporting point-to-point parking assistance and AEB automatic emergency braking up to 120 km/h. All models come standard with the Hi4 electric four-wheel-drive hybrid system, comprising a 1.5T engine, a 4-speed DHT transmission, and dual motors (front and rear), delivering a combined output of 460 hp. It offers a CLTC pure-electric range of 206 km and a combined range of 1,135 km. On June 17, BYD officially launched the Tang EV, offering four variants priced from RMB 239,900 to RMB 309,900. This large, three-row, all-electric SUV measures 5,263 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,790/1,800 mm in height, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase. Its design continues the Dynasty series’ Chinese-inspired aesthetic, featuring full-width lighting and 21-inch wheels, with multiple single-tone and two-tone paint options available. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 50-inch AR-HUD. Seating is arranged in a 2+2+3 layout, with the second row equipped with foldable screens, tray tables, and an onboard refrigerator. Advanced features include the "God’s Eye" 5.0 ADAS system, Yunniu-A dual-chamber air suspension, rear-wheel steering (with a turning radius of just 5.2 meters), and crab-walk mode. Powertrain options include a single-motor rear-wheel-drive version (408 hp or 503 hp) and a dual-motor AWD variant (796 hp). CLTC ranges are rated at 800 km, 950 km, and 850 km respectively, with the quickest 0–100 km/h acceleration time at just 3.9 seconds. A plug-in hybrid variant will follow later. On the same day, Audi released official images of the A8 Final Edition. Developed by Audi Japan, this limited-run model is restricted to 88 units, priced at JPY 15,980,000 (approximately RMB 673,600), commemorating the end of the A8’s production lifecycle. Based on the 55 TFSI quattro S line, it features S line exterior styling, 21-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and exclusive paint finishes including white, black, blue, and a special deep black. The interior includes carbon fiber trim, S-badged sport seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, and ventilated and massaging functions for both front and rear seats. Under the hood lies a 3.0L V6 turbocharged engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 340 hp and mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The chassis features quattro all-wheel drive, a sport rear differential, and specially tuned air suspension, with ride height lowered by 10 mm compared to the standard model. Audi has already ceased accepting new A8 orders in Germany. Its successor is expected around 2030, with the flagship role transitioning to the upcoming large Q9 SUV.
