On April 23, Huawei launched its Qiankun ADS 5 autonomous driving system and has recently begun rolling it out to vehicles. Built on the WEWA 2.0 AI agent architecture designed specifically for autonomous driving, the system introduces a multi-agent game mechanism, increasing training intensity by 10 times. It also employs online reinforcement learning technology to enable closed-loop AI training—spanning scenario generation, response learning, and performance validation—boosting training efficiency by another 10 times. On the vehicle side, the system integrates Safety Risk Field technology for real-time safety assessment and optimizes travel strategies through its DrivingAgent module. In terms of functionality, ADS 5 upgrades to eAES 3.0, enabling proactive lane changes or acceleration maneuvers to avoid rear-side collision risks. Coupled with an 896-line LiDAR, the system enhances detection capabilities for low-reflectivity and irregularly shaped moving obstacles. New features include prevention of unintended steering inputs, an upgraded "door-to-door" parking assist (now version 3.0), and rain/fog-enhanced safety visualization on the HUD. The all-new Aito M9, launched on May 27, is the first vehicle equipped with the ADS 5 system. It features 40 sensors throughout the vehicle, delivering 360-degree, blind-spot-free perception.
