The race to develop solid-state batteries has entered a white-hot phase. Recently, Jinghe Energy, a startup controlled by Yu Hao, founder of Dreame Technology, closed a tens-of-millions-of-yuan angel funding round, focusing on all-solid-state battery R&D with the goal of achieving an energy density of 800 Wh/kg by 2027 and planning vehicle integration tests in Q4 2026. Almost simultaneously, China FAW announced the successful rollout of the first prototype vehicle equipped with its Hongqi all-solid-state battery, which passed a 200°C thermal abuse test and achieved an ionic conductivity exceeding 10 mS/cm. Besides FAW, SAIC Motor and GAC Group are also accelerating their efforts, advancing pilot production lines and mass production plans, respectively. Globally, industry giants such as Toyota, Samsung SDI, and ProLogium Technology have also unveiled their own solid-state battery mass production timelines. Solid-state batteries are now becoming the strategic high ground in new energy vehicle technology, with players worldwide vying for dominance and influence in the future industry landscape.
